29.12.2016
Sergei Kiriyenko, who left Rosatom State Corporation to take up the post of First Deputy Head of the Russia President Administration, will head the Supervisory Board of the Rosatom State Corporation. A corresponding decree was signed by President Vladimir Putin and published on the Kremlin website.

Sergei Kiriyenko's appointment to the Supervisory Board of Rosatom suggests that the strategic policy towards strengthening Rosatom’s role as a global player on the nuclear market will continue, said Leonid Gusev, an expert with the MGIMO analytical center at the Russian Foreign Ministry, BelTA has learned.

“One of Rosatom’s main development objectives in the current economic situation is building up the portfolio of overseas orders. The portfolio is expected to increase by 20% this year as against last year. The appointment of Alexei Likhachev, who was previously in charge of foreign economic issues at the Ministry of Economic Development, will help strengthen boost Rosatom’s international activity. Given the current economic situation in the country, foreign orders are very important for the nuclear industry comprised of a large number of enterprises across Russia,” the expert said.
