Speaking about results of the year 2016, Vasily Kolosov, Head of the Financial Markets Analysis Department at OOO KIT Finance, said that several events of the year 2016 will stand out from the economic point of view, BelTA has learned.
First of all, in comparison with 2015 the portfolio of foreign orders increased by 20% as expected. Thus, the total portfolio of Rosatom’s orders that spans the entire lifecycle of nuclear power plants now stands at $300 billion.
Second, the amount of electricity generated by nuclear power plants in Russia increased by 0.6%, setting a new record.
Both tendencies are likely to continue in 2017. More electricity will be generated by nuclear power plants thanks to the commissioning of the 6th power-generating unit of the Novovoronezh nuclear power plant and the commissioning of the new BN-80 power-generating unit of the Beloyarsk nuclear power plant. Rosatom’s overseas expansion is likely to continue in Asia and South America.
