The construction of the third power-generating unit of the Rostov nuclear power plant began in 2009. In September 2015 the unit was commissioned.

The commissioning of the third power-generating unit of the Rostov nuclear power plant ahead of schedule will result in millions of additional kilowatt hours, which economic effect is measured at RUB247.8 million as well as additional jobs and additional taxes for budgets of all levels.
