The International Industry Forum ATOMEXPO 2013 will be held in Saint Petersburg on 26-28 June, BelTA learnt from the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM, an organizer of the event.
A plenary discussion “Nuclear Energy in the 21st century: responsible partnership for sustainable growth” will be held as part of the forum on 26 June. Taking part in the discussion will be IAEA Deputy Director-General Alexander Bychkov, President of the Japan Atomic Industrial Forum Takuya Hattori, Former United States Secretary of Energy, co-winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics Steven Chu and others.
The forum will serve as an international platform to discuss a broad variety of topics, including international nuclear law, nuclear education, environmental protection, international cooperation in nuclear fuel cycle, public acceptance of nuclear energy.
The forum will also showcase achievements of the global nuclear industry leaders across various fields of business, science and manufacturing. ATOMEXPO 2012 forum that was held in Moscow gathered over 4,000 participants from 53 countries.
The International Industry Forum ATOMEXPO 2013 will take place in the run-up to the International Ministerial Conference “Nuclear Power in the 21st Century” to be held by the IAEA in Saint Petersburg on June 27-29.
