Belarus’ oil import up by 5.9% to 22.5m tonnes in 2014

In 2014 Belarus increased crude oil import by 5.9% as against a year earlier to 22.5 million tonnes, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee.

In 2014 Belarus purchased oil worth $7,628.9 million. This corresponds to 90.9% of the crude oil costs paid by Belarus in 2013.

Belarus imported 420,000 tonnes of petroleum products to the tune of $280.6 million last year (up 3.4 times over 2013), including 379,000 tonnes from Russia (up 4.4 times).

In 2014 Belarus exported 1,617,000 tonnes of oil, down 0.1% from 2013, to a total of $124 million. In addition, Belarus exported 13,784,000 tonnes of petroleum products (up 1.6%), including 1,802,000 tonnes to Russia (up 29.8%).

In October last year the Belarus-Russia Union Council of Ministers approved the indicative fuel and energy balances for 2015. This year Belarus will receive 23 million tonnes of oil, including 22 million tonnes through the pipeline system. Accordingly, Belarus will supply oil products to Russia in agreed quantities.
