Belarus, Russia discuss common energy markets

MINSK, 12 October (BelTA) – Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich is taking part in the Russian Energy Week. A number of bilateral meetings were held on the sidelines of the forum on 11 October. The topic of one of them was the development of common energy markets between Belarus and Russia, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Energy Ministry.

Issues of bilateral cooperation, including the development of common energy markets, were discussed by Viktor Karankevich and Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov on 11 October.

The Belarusian energy minister also met with Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Arzybek Kozhoshev. The parties discussed the prospects for the development of integration processes in the EAEU in the fuel and energy sector.

Viktor Karankevich met with Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Daler Juma on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week. The meeting focused on the current state of the bilateral partnership and opportunities to intensify contacts between the countries.

The Belarusian energy minister also exchanged views with IAEA Deputy Director General Mikhail Chudakov.
