Belarus to export more oil products to Moldova
23.10.2015
Belarus intends to export more oil products to Moldova, BelTA learned from representatives of the Embassy of Belarus in Moldova.
The source specified that this year the export of Belarusian oil products to Moldova has dropped by roughly one third due to a number of objective reasons, but Belarus is ready to export more oil products at competitive prices.
Apart from that, negotiations are in progress with Moldovan oil companies. The Belarusian side would like them to sell Belarusian oil products at refueling stations separately from the rest of the product range using a special sign that will indicate that these products have been made in Belarus.
BelTA has been told that Belarus supplies high-quality products to Moldova. They are in demand and are highly appreciated by consumers, yet not all the consumers are aware of the fact they use Belarusian fuel since Moldovan companies buy the fuel on the wholesale market to sell it via local refueling stations without any special signs.
In the past ZAO Belarusian Oil Company stated it intended to enter Moldova’s retail market.
According to official statistics, in January-August 2015 Belarus shipped 64,400 tonnes of oil products worth $34.8 million to Moldova, 30% down from the same period of last year in physical terms and 58% down in cost terms.
