MINSK, 17 June (BelTA) - The Belarusian national energy company Belenergo is working on various electricity export options, Belenergo Director General Pavel Drozd said in interview with BelTA.
“Negotiations and consultations on the development of interstate electric connections are underway with a number of companies, including those from the Baltic states,” Pavel Drozd said. “Business regularly turns to Belenergo declaring their interest in the purchase of Belarusian electricity,” he added.
Since 2009, Belenergo has been working with the Polish side on the issue of resuming reciprocal electricity supplies and the construction of a DC link. “The analysis of electricity prices on the Polish TGE shows that electricity export from Belarus could be competitive on the Polish electricity market during certain period,” the Belenergo director general said.
