Belarusian underground gas storage facilities in for expansion

There are plans to increase the capacity of underground gas storage facilities in Belarus, BelTA learned from Russian Deputy Energy Minister Anatoly Yanovsky during the expert and media forum held in Moscow on 20 November to highlight the 15th anniversary of the foundation of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
“Beltransgaz plans to invest in the expansion of the existing underground gas storage facilities in Belarus and the development of the gas transport system,” said the official.
Belarus and Russia have implemented and are implementing a large number of joint investment projects in the sphere of energy and transport. The number includes the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. Russian investments in OAO Grodno Azot are under consideration.
The Russian Deputy Energy Minister reminded that the future Eurasian Economic Union will have common markets for oil, oil products, natural gas, and electricity. The sides are now busy working out the relevant concepts. The development of common approaches is underway.
The forum “15th anniversary of the Union State: Agenda for tomorrow” took place in Moscow on 20 November. The forum gathered Belarusian and Russian scientists, political analysts. The experts discussed prospects of economic and humanitarian cooperation between Russia and Belarus.
