Belarusian universities get over €280,000 under Tempus program

The Department of Physics of Belarusian State University has received a €140,000 grant for purchasing new training equipment under the international project “Development of a training network for improving education in energy efficiency” of the European Union’s Tempus program, BelTA learnt from the press service of the university.

“The funds will help fit the laboratories of the Department of Physics with necessary equipment and enhance the level of training in thermal physics, energy-saving materials and technology, energy renewable resources,” the BSU press service said, noting that two more universities, the Belarusian National Technical University and the Belarusian State Agrarian Technical University, had been granted more than €70,000 each for the similar purpose.

The decision was taken at the second meeting on the project “Development of a training network for improving education in energy efficiency” at Belarusian State University in early March with the participation of representatives of the universities from the European Union, Belarus, Azerbaijan and the city of Kosovska Mitrovica.

The participants confirmed course programs in 10 energy saving areas: Energy Distribution, Energy Efficient Illumination, Energy Saving Materials, Gas and Hydrodynamics, Thermocompressors, Energy Efficient Technology, Power Electronics, Solar Energy and PV, Wind Energy and Hydrogen Energy.
