The largest contract to be signed during the Austrian-Belarusian-Russian business forum in Minsk will reach $300 million, BelTA learned from Alexander Nakhayenko, First Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on 13 October.
Alexander Nakhayenko said: “Without giving away any names I can say that the largest contract to be signed as a result of the negotiations will total $300 million. The contract will focus on power engineering.” Specific results of the forum will be revealed after a business matchmaking session between representatives of the Austrian, Belarusian and Russian private sectors.
Alexander Nakhayenko stated that Belarus’ cooperation with Austria covers various areas. “If we look at the list of Belarusian and Austrian participants, we will see that their interests lie in different areas varying from agriculture to high technology, machines, information science, electronics, and power engineering,” said the official.
The panel session on power engineering, infrastructure, and logistics is expected to attract the largest number of participants. “The organizers even had to change the hall because about 120 companies from the three countries are willing to take part in the panel session,” summed up Alexander Nakhayenko.
The second Austrian-Belarusian-Russian business forum has been organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia, and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber. The forum features a plenary session and three panel sessions focusing on power engineering, infrastructure, and logistics, agriculture and food, and prospects of interaction between European Union and Eurasian Economic Union business associations within the framework of European and Eurasian integration processes. Individual talks between businessmen from Austria, Belarus, and Russia will be held as well.
