MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Energy Minister Denis Moroz met with Russian Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Snikkars, the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry told BelTA.
Matters concerning cooperation in the sphere of power engineering within the framework of the Union State of Belarus and Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union were discussed. In particular, economic aspects of parallel operation of the Belarusian and Russian electricity markets were discussed. The sides also discussed progress in preparing a draft interstate agreement on setting up the joint electricity market of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. The agreement has to be signed in line with the Union State program on setting up the joint electricity market. The program was approved by the integration ordinance of the heads of state on 4 November.
Denis Moroz noted that while discussing topical aspects of partnership the Belarusian Energy Ministry and the Russian one are always intent on pursuing a constructive approach and on reaching mutual understanding.
Pavel Snikkars said: “Bilateral mutual relations are very important for us with regard to the establishment of our positions, including within the framework of the movement going on between our countries in the Eurasian Economic Union.”
