MOSCOW, 24 May (BelTA) - Issues related to energy security remain relevant for the Belarus-Russia Union State and the Eurasian Economic Union amid sanctions, Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich said at the 2nd Eurasian Economic Forum in Moscow on 24 May, BelTA has learned.

The minister views the development of the energy security concept for the EAEU common market as timely. “The transformation of world energy markets, given the global energy crisis, external constraints and sanctions pushes us to develop new steps and ways to strengthen energy security. In general this work is relevant for the Union State and the EAEU,” he said.

“I think that as part of integration processes for creating common energy markets, we will also be discussing these issues and working out additional activities, which will increase energy security of each country and the union as a whole,” Viktor Karankevich said.
