23.03.2015
A solar power plant will be built at a former airfield in the town of Shchuchin. The Grodno Oblast administration is considering the relevant investment project suggested by a private company, BelTA has learned.
The new solar power plant may be built at premises of the former military airfield in Shchuchin by the company OOO LogAl-Energo that was registered by the Grodno Oblast administration in January 2015. The company intends to invest about Br35 billion in building the power plant and is going to install imported solar panels in the land plot set up at the former military airfield for the sake of implementing the investment project. Private business is vigorously developing at the premises now.
The investor has experience of working in the field of alternative energy. A solar power plant built by OOO Agrohimsvet operates in the village of Rozhanka, Shchuchin District. Once all the modules of the power plant are installed, its power generation capacity will be close to 1.2MW at the end of the year. For now it is the only solar power plant in Grodno Oblast. Another solar power installation is being designed in Grodno District by the engineering company InvestEnergoStroy.
