Representatives of Chinese nuclear companies visiting Belarus

MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – Representatives of Chinese nuclear companies will stay in Belarus on a visit through 22 September, the Belarusian national electric company Belenergo told BelTA.

The delegation includes representatives of China National Nuclear Power Company and Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation (JNPC), which operates the Tianwan nuclear power plant. While in Belarus members of the delegation are expected to hold negotiations with the management of Belenergo and OAO Belenergoremnaladka. They will also go on a fact-finding trip to the Belarusian nuclear power plant.

During the visit Belarusian and Chinese specialists will discuss a broad range of matters of mutual interest and promising cooperation avenues: consulting support, advancement of cooperation with the training center of the Tianwan nuclear power plant in training (retraining) managers, operators, and technicians.

The trip to Belarus is a reciprocal visit after Belarusian specialists visited the Tianwan nuclear power plant in May 2022. During that visit the possibility of arranging internship for Belarusian specialists was discussed. During internship Belarusian specialists could get familiar with practical aspects of repairs and maintenance of the Chinese nuclear power plant.
