It is necessary to develop creative information projects and expert media platforms, Belarusian Information Minister Liliya Ananich said at the plenary meeting of the 10th Belarusian International Media Forum “Partnership for the Future: Legacy of the Great Victory” on 8 June, BelTA has learned.
“New media, Internet and social networks give unlimited opportunities for spreading huge volumes of information, getting topical and timely commentaries. At the same time, the media community, first of all, responds to the negative opinions which begin to prevail in the public conscience. Therefore, it is important to develop expert media platforms, creative information projects to generate constructive information flows,” the minister said.
In her words, the Belarusian international media forum was designed as a uniting platform of this kind. “We can say for sure that the forum copes with this task and is vigorously developing,” Liliya Ananich noted.
She expressed confidence that the media forum will give a new impetus to the creation of international projects aimed at uniting creative and intellectual efforts of journalists from various countries. “We can and should create new up-to-date content. It has not to be done occasionally, but in constant creative interaction. Destructive information can be combated by unity and professionalism. Honest and responsible journalism, compliance with professional ethics, corporate solidarity will be good remedies against destructive ideology,” the minister is convinced.
“Solid integration and interdependence reign in the modern world. Therefore, common issues cannot be solved without taking into account the interests of each other, without close interaction. Only by consolidating our efforts we will be able to endure modern challenges and threats,” Liliya Ananich concluded.
