Belarus, Austria to boost cooperation between Academies of Sciences

Belarus and Austria plan to promote cooperation between the Academies of Sciences. The agreement was reached at the meeting between a delegation of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) and President of the Austrian Academy of Sciences Anton Zeilinger in Vienna on 28 January, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in Austria.
The Belarusian delegation that is on a visit to Vienna on 27-31 January has comprised NASB chief academic secretary Alexander Kilchevsky and Director of the NASB’s Stepanov Institute of Physics Nikolai Kazak. The parties shared opinions on the ways to develop cooperation between the Academies of Sciences of Belarus and Austria, including possible exchanges in visits, implementation of joint projects, joining big international scientific programs, mutual participation in the international scientific forums in Belarus and Austria.
While in Austria, the Belarusian delegation is expected to visit the central office of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, a number of universities, institutes and other scientific establishments of Austria. The Belarusian delegation is also expected to meet with Austrian scientists to discuss further development of bilateral contacts and scientific cooperation.
