BeCloud representatives explained that the construction of the data center is a task of national importance. The government policy is focused on using information and communication resources as effectively as possible. The approach has evolved into the idea to create a national platform for cloud computing that will be located in the national data center. The platform will be created using the nationwide data network.
Government agencies will be the first clients of the national cloud computing platform.
The construction of the national data center is a unique project for Belarus. It is being implemented by the country’s first infrastructure operator beCloud. Belarusian state and private enterprises will be able to place their software and hardware resources, information resources and systems in the data center. Among other services the data center will offer hosting, co-location, and services based on the national cloud computing platform. In the course of building the data center beCloud focuses on cutting-edge standards, reliability and safety. Apart from that, the national data center will become Belarus’ first data center certified for compliance with international reliability and safety standards. It will be confirmed by Uptime Institute’s Tier III certificate. Emerson Company will take care of the engineering infrastructure the national data center will need. Many Belarusian technologies and solutions will be utilized during the project’s implementation. The participation of Belarusian contractors in the project exceeds 50%.
