Belarusian cosmonaut scheduled to fly to ISS in autumn 2023

MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – A Belarusian cosmonaut is scheduled to fly to the International Space Station (ISS) in autumn 2023, BelTA learned from the Telegram channel of the Russian space agency Roscosmos.
The message reads: “The flight on a Russian spacecraft Soyuz-MS is scheduled for autumn 2023.”
The candidate will be selected out of 29 people shortlisted by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
Belarus and Russia have yet to decide on the continuation of the selection work and the scientific program of the Belarusian cosmonaut’s flight. The corresponding meeting is supposed to take place on the sidelines of the expo National Security. Belarus 2022, which is scheduled to take place in Minsk on 22-25 June.
