Belarusian Horizont unveils minicomputer of its own

MINSK, 15 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian manufacturer of electronics and white goods Horizont presented a minicomputer at the exhibition of innovative products and industrial goods that opened in Minsk on 15 September ahead of People's Unity Day, BelTA has learned.

“We present new products today. Those are monitors, which will be marketed under the H brand. We will launch a lineup by the end of the year. A small computer is another novelty we've just made. Everyone is accustomed to big stationary personal desktops. But we offer a minicomputer. You can connect a wireless keyboard, a mouse, and a display to it. It can be attached to the back of the monitor or can stand alone. The minicomputer can also be hooked up to a TV set,” BelTA learned from Aleksandr Yankovsky, Head of the Promotion and Sales Department at OAO MPOVT (part of the holding company Horizont).

The exhibition also features Belarusian notebooks, which are already available in retail. Those are a 15-inch model and two 14-inch models. They are quite light: 1.4-1.8kg. “We intend to expand the lineup. There are plans to make a more powerful notebook with greater performance,” Aleksandr Yankovsky noted.

Apart from that, the products on display included a transparent liquid crystal display, which can be used for advertising or as a digital showcase. Horizont Company is working to expand the lineup and intends to offer smaller, less expensive models. Such products are made to order. The displays can be attached to a wall or stand on the desktop.

Horizont's products on display also include a lineup of TV sets.

The exhibition will work in Minsk Arena from 11:00 till 20:00 on 15-17 September. Admittance is free. Visitors can see the best products of Belarus' defense industry, products of Belarusian heavy and light industry enterprises, electronics enterprises, food industry enterprises. Apart from that, Belarusian scientists and inventors as well as representatives of education institutions demonstrate their accomplishments and R&D products. The Minsk City Executive Committee is the organizer.
