Belarusian scientists to present sensors, laser equipment, drones at Russian expo Innoprom 2023

MINSK, 9 July (BelTA) – First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Sergei Chizhik talked to a BelTA reporter and explained what R&D products the academy intends to showcase at the international industrial expo Innoprom 2023 in Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia.

Sergei Chizhik said: “Participation in the Innoprom expo has already become a tradition for us. Yet the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus always attaches great importance to it. This year our country is the main partner of this expo, this is why we showcase not only manufacturing sector products but also R&D products. The academy will be represented by nine organizations that specialize in industrial technologies. We intend to present a total of about 100 exhibits.”

In his words, the Physical-Technical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will present technologies and equipment for processing materials – cementing, nitrogen hardening, and thermal hardening.

Apart from that, microelectronic products will be showcased, in particular, microelectromechanic systems – sensors that are used in machines, equipment, and even household appliances. “We develop and make a series of these sensors. Those can be sensors of gas, pressure, placement, inclination, and other ones,” the official explained.

Optics, optoelectronics, and laser equipment will also be presented. Sergei Chizhik mentioned that devices, which can promptly determine the composition of metals and their percentages, will be demonstrated at the expo.

“Apart from that, we will demonstrate the capability to transmit information with a laser beam and capabilities of extremely sensitive heat imagers. Apart from that, we intend to showcase an entire range of devices designed to measure parameters of materials,” he stressed.

Belarusian scientists will also present unmanned vehicles. The R&D Center for Multipurpose Unmanned Systems and ZAO Aviation Technologies and Systems make piloted gyrocopters, agricultural drones, and other drones for various ranges and payloads. Belarus started manufacturing the drones not so long ago but they are already in great demand.

Sergei Chizhik went on saying: “We will present accomplishments in electric transport – manufacturing localization, components, traction motors, control electronics, software, assembly of accumulator systems, and assembly using lithium cells.”

Belarusian scientists will also showcase R&D products in the area of artificial intelligence, information technologies, and space exploration technologies.
