Belarusian women cosmonauts lay flowers at Yuri Gagarin’s, Sergei Korolev’s graves

MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – In Yuri Gagarin’s commemorative office the cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky and Ivan Vagner, the Belarusian women Marina Vasilevskaya and Anastasia Lenkova, who are about to participate in a space flight, and the astronauts Tracy Dyson and Donald Pettit left autographs in the commemorative book of preflight records and visited the Red Square according to the established tradition, the Cosmonaut Training Center told BelTA.

Outside the Kremlin wall the flight crews and workers of the rocket and space industry laid flowers at the sites where Yuri Gagarin and Sergei Korolev are buried. After that the crews visited Sergei Korolev’s memorial house where an exposition featuring personal belongings of the Soviet space program’s chief designer, his library, household items, and works of pictorial art was presented.

On 6 March Oleg Novitsky, Ivan Vagner, Marina Vasilevskaya, Anastasia Lenkova, Tracy Dyson, and Donald Pettit are expected to go to the Baikonur Cosmodrome for prelaunch preparations.
