Formation of Belarus-Russia single sci-tech space to be discussed in Moscow

The harmonization of legislations of Belarus and Russia for the formation of the single scientific and technical space of the Union State will be discussed at the extended meeting of the board of the scientific and consultative council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State in Moscow on 8 July, BelTA learned from the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly.
In particular, the participants are expected to discuss possible expert solutions regarding the harmonization of legislations of Belarus and Russia for the facilitation of the sci-tech process and integration in the two countries. The meeting will focus on the integration of education processes, the program and regulatory support of nuclear and radiation safety, harmonization of the legal framework in the regulation of greenhouse gas emissions. They will also adopt a joint action plan of the scientific and consultative council.
Partaking in the event will be heads of departments of the scientific and consultative council, members of the Parliamentary Assembly, experts and scientists from Belarus and Russia.
The scientific and consultative council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State was founded in 2008 to provide scientific support to the Parliamentary Assembly and its commissions, develop proposals regarding the activities of the Parliamentary Assembly. The council includes Union State MPs, representatives of scientific circles and experts in various fields. The member of the Parliamentary Assembly commission for information policy, chairman of the Russian State Duma commission for CIS affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots is the chairman of the council.
