BREST, 24 March (BelTA) – The scientific and technical accomplishments expo Intellectual Belarus. Regions was solemnly opened in Brest on 24 March, BelTA has learned.
Most of the exhibits can be found under the roof of an indoor field-and-track complex while large exhibits are displayed outside. Heads of the oblast administration and district administrations, representatives of diplomatic missions, enterprises, and organizations of Brest Oblast as well as hundreds of Brest city residents came to examine the latest and most interesting R&D accomplishments. First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Sergei Chizhik and Deputy Chairwoman of the State Committee on Science and Technology Tatiana Stolyarova were among the guests.
Once the expo attracted over 100,000 visitors in Minsk, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko gave instructions to demonstrate the expo in all the oblast capitals. The Intellectual Belarus project has travelled all over the country and will finish the tour of the regions in Brest. In his welcome address to guests and participants of the expo Brest Oblast Governor Yuri Shuleiko noted that Brest Oblast is an agrarian region but the fact does not prevent it from also positioning itself as a highly intellectual region.
Yuri Shuleiko said: “All the conditions are being enabled here for the sake of R&D work, testing and assimilation of R&D products. Unique products, products of the present and the future are on display here. I think young Belarusians will be the ones primarily interested in the exposition. Worker collectives should also actively visit the expo.”
Over 130 enterprises and organizations of the country participate in the expo. Over 400 exhibits are on display. The expo is organized as clusters focusing on artificial intelligence and high technologies, defense industry, innovative instrument-making, agribusiness, biotechnologies, ecology, healthcare, and food. Some space has been set aside for youth initiatives.
Scientific and innovative products of local enterprises and organizations have been added to the main exposition in Brest. In particular, STiM Company presented self-propelled machines for painting road markings. Amkodor-Pinsk put road construction and maintenance machines on display. Brest Electromechanical Plant brought a sowing unit that relies on a more careful tilling technology. Visitors can also see R&D products of the companies residing in the Brest Science and Technology Park and the free economic zone (FEZ) Brest. Four Brest Oblast universities also presented their intellectual potential at the expo.
