Minsk to host session of CIS interstate council for sci-tech cooperation

Minsk will host the 16th
session of the CIS Interstate Council for Cooperation in Science,
Technology and Innovations (IC STI) on 24-25 September, BelTA learned
from the press service of the State Science and Technology Committee of
Belarus.
“The agenda of the session includes more than 15 issues. The
participants of the event will discuss the status of implementation of
the CIS interstate innovation cooperation program for the period until
2020 and some pilot interstate innovation projects. Besides, members of
the council will talk over the ways to coordinate the cooperation in
science, technology, and innovations within the framework of such
interstate organizations as the CIS, the Eurasian Economic Union, and
the Belarus-Russia Union State,” the press service added.
Apart from that, the session is expected to discuss the draft agreement
on setting up the CIS Joint Institute for Space Research, as well as to
review the activities of the CIS International Innovative Nanotechnology
Center in 2015.
Partaking in the session will be delegations of Armenia, Belarus,
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, and Russia, and also members of the
Permanent Committee of the Belarus-Russia Union State and the CIS
Executive Committee. “It is worth mentioning that five out of the total
of 15 sessions of the Interstate Council for Cooperation in Science,
Technology and Innovations were held in Minsk,” the press service of the
State Science and Technology Committee stressed.
