27.10.2015
Representatives of 22 countries have arrived in Minsk to participate in Physics Week. Among them are scientists from France, the United States, Germany, Austria, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Australia, the Netherlands, and Spain, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
“Physics Week opened on 27 October with the International Conference on Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (ICQOQI'2015). The working language of the conference is English, which attests to the high level of the event,” the press service noted.
Partaking in the forum are many young scientists, researchers, undergraduate and graduate university students. “This is natural as the younger generation should keep up with modern scientific trends,” the press service explained.
In the course of the week, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will be hosting large-scale international forums on physics. The Fifth Congress of Belarusian Physicists will officially open on 28 October. It will be devoted to the International Year of Light. From year to year, the congress discusses a wide range of topics, including new fundamental knowledge, materials, diagnostic methods and techniques, energy conservation, ecology, medicine, the role of physics in the life of the society, and training of scientific personnel and research workers.
