MINSK, 2 September (BelTA) – Future of scientific research belongs to enthusiastic young people. Head of the Belarus President Administration Igor Sergeyenko made the statement as he visited a science festival, BelTA has learned.
Igor Sergeyenko remarked that a tour of the venues of the festival left multiple vivid impressions. R&D products for various spheres are presented during the festival, including R&D products for agriculture, manufacturing sector, healthcare, ecology, nature management, and environmental protection. “I've talked to many young specialists, representatives of academic science and university science. The most important thing that unites all the developers is enthusiasm. It is the engine of progress. I am convinced that future belongs to these young people – those, who are making their first steps in science, and those, who have already accomplished something,” the official said.
The head of the Belarus President Administration noted that there are very many guests at the festival, including kids. “Enlightenment is an important part of the event. Experiments are demonstrated to the kids. It is a true celebration. Scientific accomplishments are demonstrated. An atmosphere of involvement is created,” he added.
Igor Sergeyenko also recalled the Intellectual Belarus exhibition that had been held in every the oblast capital of the country and had left indelible impressions in addition to attracting many visitors. He mentioned the importance of such events for science popularization.
A science festival is taking place in the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in Minsk. It is the fifth science festival so far this year. The festival includes traditional zones such as healthcare, robots, space industry as well as brand new formats such as a zone dedicated to scientific fiction (sci-fi), a venue for meetings with prominent scientists, writers, and cosmonauts, and even a concert by a robot orchestra.
