The State Control Committee will systematically monitor the spending of state budget money on the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, the press service of the State Control Committee of Belarus told BelTA.

Mr Vasily Gerasimov, Chairman of the State Control Committee for Grodno Oblast, was made familiar with the progress of the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant during a working trip to Ostrovets District.

The construction of the first power-generating unit is in full swing, with 1,500 workers employed on site. Preparatory works are nearly complete, with many facilities of the industrial base now operational.
