Myasnikovich counts on trade growth, sci-tech projects with Indonesia
“Belarus considers cooperation with Indonesia among its priorities. We are ready to discuss any cooperation issues of mutual interest,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said. Apart from developing political and parliamentary contacts, he emphasized other promising cooperation areas such as investment, sci-tech, trade and economic sectors. According to the Speaker of the Council of the Republic, Belarus hopes for mutual understanding in all the abovementioned issues.

Attending the scientific forum will be specialists in physics, chemistry, material science and instrument engineering from Belarus, England, Belgium, Greece, Denmark, Israel, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, the United States, Finland, France, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine.

Belarusian MTZ offers unmanned tractors
The MTZ Chief Designer explained that the map of the field will be uploaded to the tractor's computer. After that the tractor's operations will be guided by either satellites or ground-based correcting stations. “We already have two tractors like that, with the movement precision of 3-5cm. The precision is sufficient for mowing, sprinkling, and even sowing. We have tested the machines in night and fog conditions. The system performed well,” he stressed.

Reliable tests for Ebola, African swine fever made by Vitebsk scientists
In his words, the high-tech test systems rely on modern methods of molecular genetic research. They have been created with consultative assistance of German specialists. The Belarusian test systems demonstrate better sensibility and specificity in comparison with Western products. In other words, the Vitebsk-made test systems are very reliable and can detect the presence of the virus in minimal amounts of biological material samples. In turn, the improvements allow more effective monitoring of the diseases since early-stage detection allows medics to promptly stop further propagation of the virus.

Space research agency created in Belarus
“Today’s session of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus decided in favor of setting up a space research agency as part of the Academy. One can say that the agency exists as of today,” explained Sergei Chizhik. He stressed that all the Academy’s partners in space research in other countries already have similar agencies.

Unison, General Motors in talks to make premium class cars in Belarus
During the presentation Unison's Acting Director General Dmitry Yegorov said: “We are advancing relations with the company General Motors and plan to expand the product range primarily with premium class cars.” The presentation of the cars to be assembled is expected to take place in September 2015.

Belarus restricts access to websites primarily to stop trade in narcotics
As of 1 May the Belarusian Information Ministry had 18 websites on the restricted access list. Fifteen websites were used to spread information about ways to acquire and use narcotic substances, one website advertised child pornography, and two websites used profanities.

Belarusian students win five awards at Intel ISEF 2015
Partaking in the Intel ISEF 2015 were about 1,700 students from 75 countries. Belarus was represented by four winners of the Belarus Science and Engineering Fair in February 2015. The nationwide contest was organized by the Education Department of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee, the Minsk Oblast Institute of Education Development, the HTP Administration and Intel. This year the national contest was held for the third time.
