PM: Belarus is exploring idea to build additional units at BelNPP
Belarus is studying the feasibility of building additional units at the Belarusian nuclear power plant, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said as he met with Director General of the Russian state nuclear industry corporation Rosatom Alexey Likhachev in Minsk on 30 August.

Belarus' largest, oldest power plant opened to tourists
The Lukoml state district power plant is Belarus' oldest power plant. Its construction began in 1964. The first unit with the output capacity of 300MW was commissioned in 1969. In 2003-2013 the main equipment and auxiliary equipment of the Lukoml state district power plant were gradually upgraded.

New measures approved to increase electricity consumption in Belarus by 2025
The complex of measures includes 187 measures and projects. Their realization is supposed to result in the total installed capacity of 933.17MW. Electricity consumption is supposed to increase by 2,499.64 million kWh per annum.

Belarus to present nuclear waste management report at IAEA meeting
Aleksandr Dokuchayev said: “We will soon have to defend a national report on the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management. The review meeting will begin at International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) venues in two weeks, as from 27 June.”
