IAEA, Japan, China help Belarus deal with Chernobyl catastrophe consequences
For the last few years Belarus has been working with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on matters concerning the alleviation of consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident. Belarus participated in the realization of two international projects.

Belarus’ Chernobyl aftermath recovery costs totaled
Tatiana Dekhterenok said: “We do spend a lot on the program on alleviating consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident. The state budget spent $19.3 billion in 1990-2021. Attention was primarily paid to enabling conditions for radiation, ecological, and economic rehabilitation of affected territories."

Belarus to choose space flight candidates by mid-June
The official said the list will be compiled soon, at some point before 15 June. One main candidate and one backup candidate will be selected. Russia will take care of the main costs. “While we will present our program and finance it,” Vladimir Gusakov said.

Belarus, Russia make up minds on financing new satellite launch
The official said that the draft design is fully ready and specialists are working directly. “We’ve agreed on financing. President of Russia Vladimir Putin has instructed the Russian government to look into it. The matter has been handled on our side but we will confirm it with a decision from the head of state,” he noted.
