Belarus to greatly reduce oil export duties to match Russia's
As from 1 January Belarus will considerably reduce export duties on oil and oil products, which are exported beyond the Customs Union, the press service of the Belarus government told BelTA. The relevant decision is laid down by the Belarus government's executive order.

Belarus to pay different price for Russian natural gas as from February
“As from 1 January Belarus will pay to Gazprom in accordance with the year 2014 prices. We expect that the price for natural gas will be different as from February,” said the source. The source did not specify the new price citing information confidentiality reasons.

Belorusneft wins Lukoil Komi's hydraulic fracturing tender
It will be the first time when specialists of the Belarusian company will work with Lukoil Komi. The Belarusian company will have to perform 15 hydraulic fracturing operations at five exploration wells (three operations per each) in an oil field in Russia's Republic of Komi. Belorusneft is supposed to start the operations on 10 January 2015.

Work in progress to improve nuclear safety standards in Belarus
The official said that the process is endless. She went on saying that they understand safety standards as the combination of relations, attitudes, and requirements used on a daily basis. “We oversee the operator and other organizations involved in the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant and should set an example,” said Olga Lugovskaya. According to the source, the Department should establish a smoothly operating management system. Every employee should fulfill all the requirements for the product of their labor and all decisions should be made in the name of safety while ruling out negative consequences. Highly trained personnel are also part of the standards.

National reports on nuclear, radiation safety in Belarus as from 2015
“We plan to prepare national reports to highlight results of the work done through the year. The reports will uncover all the aspects regarding the state of nuclear and radiation safety in the country. It is a matter of perspective for now but I think we will start doing it soon,” said the official.

Union State Nuclear Safety Program to be completed in 2015
“The program is expected to be developed by the end of the next year. Our cooperation with the Russian side is determined by the agreements signed at the government level,” she noted. The program will be a special tool that will help unite the efforts of Belarusian and Russian specialists for the joint resolution of common issues and challenges.

IAEA mission to assess Belarus’ nuclear safety regulatory infrastructure in 2016
The international mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will visit Belarus to assess its nuclear safety regulatory infrastructure in 2016, Olga Lugovskaya, Head of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Department of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry, said during a briefing hosted by BelTA's press center.

Belarus expects to get 5.7m tonnes of Russian oil in Q1 2015
Belarus expects to get 5.7 million tonnes of Russian oil in the first quarter of 2015, chairman of the Belarusian petrochemical concern Belneftekhim Igor Lyashenko told reporters at the Council of Ministers headquarters on 20 December following the high-level meeting in Moscow, BelTA has learned.

Atomproject: AES-2006 is Russia’s major export design of nuclear technologies
“The AES-2006 design is the major export design of Russian nuclear technologies,” he said. Apart from the BelNPP which main construction phase started in 2013, the Russian company signed the contract to design the Hanhikivi-1 Nuclear Power Plant in Finland at the end of last year and has already started providing the customer with the primary project documents. “At the start of December our design was purchased by Hungary to build the fifth and sixth power-generating units of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant. Thus, the BelNPP will have both elder and younger brothers in Russia and Europe,” Alexander Kazarin said.
