Belenergo, Rosseti to step up cooperation
The parties intend to cooperate in the development of electric grids of Russia and Belarus on the basis of mutual benefit. "The agreement will contribute to the development of cooperation in the field of design, construction and renovation of electric power supply networks," experts noted.

Belarus to raise oil transit tariffs on 1 February
On 1 February 2015 the tariffs for oil transportation through Belarus will be increased. The move is envisaged by Economy Ministry's Resolution No.2 as of 14 January. The document was published on the national legal internet portal on 22 January, BelTA has learned.

Belorusneft increases oil production in Western Siberia in 2014
In 2014 the company increased oil production by 16,000 tonnes (or by 13.5%) compared to 2013. Belorusneft acquired Russian OAO Oil Company Yangpur via an auction in September 2013. The oil production increased on the back of the technological upgrade aimed to improve oil recovery.

Belarus plans to import 2.8bn kWh of Russian electricity in 2015
“This accounts for around 7% of Belarus' planned electricity consumption,” Zhanna Zenkevich noted and added that the consumption of electric power in 2015 is projected at 38.5 billion kWh.

Buryatia may become center of Russia’s uranium mining industry
Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union announced the resumption of uranium production at two of its mines in 2015. OAO Hiagda announced the start of preparations for the development of the Istochnoye and Vershinnoye natural uranium deposits at the Hiagda ore field in Buryatia, Russian media reported, BelTA has learned.

Belarus’ Energy Ministry: No electricity supply contracts with Ukraine in 2015
“Belarus has not been importing Ukrainian electricity since October 2014. Later a decision was taken not to sign supply agreements with Ukraine for 2015,” the spokeswoman said. She added that at present Belarus gets the necessary volumes of electricity from Russia.

Petrol prices in Belarus up 4.7%
“On average, retail prices for petrol and diesel fuel at national forecourts went up by 4.7%,” the concern said. Thus, prices per 1 liter are: diesel (K5) – Br12300, Ai-95-K5 – Br11900, Ai-92-K5 –Br11100.

Belarus introduces oil export duty
The decree has established that “the duty is to be paid by organizations exporting crude oil produced in Belarus and organizations transporting this oil to other countries with which Belarus signed free trade agreements”.

New power installations commissioned in Belarus in 2014
It was the first time this rate of renovation of the basic assets had been achieved by the Belarusian energy system, said the press service. In particular, the Bereza state district power plant and the Lukoml state district power plant commissioned power-generating units with the output capacity of 427MW in addition to a 65MW combined-cycle gas turbine in Borisov.
