Agreement on transfer of customs duties on Belarus-made oil products
Belarus and Russia have come to terms regarding the procedure for transferring customs duties on Belarus-made oil products taking into account previous arrangements and the calculated losses Belarus’ budget will incur due to Russia’s tax adjustments in the oil industry. The relevant statement was made by Vice Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich after negotiations between Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich and Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev in Sochi on 7 October, BelTA has learned.

Rosatom to offer small-scale, medium-scale nuclear power supply solutions
According to Vyacheslav Pershukov, the effort will represent a serious step for the Russian nuclear power engineering industry. They are now deciding which medium-capacity nuclear power-generating unit will be the first to be built in Russia. The choice is between the unit featuring a VVER-600 reactor developed by OKB Gidropress or the unit featuring a VBER-600 reactor made by Afrikantov OKBM. The first medium-capacity nuclear power-generating unit may be commissioned as part of the future second Kola nuclear power plant by 2025.

Belarus, Russia to negotiate tax maneuver amends in Minsk on 9 October
A possibility to compensate Belarus for the losses it would incur because of Russia’s tax maneuver in the oil industry will be discussed at a session of the High-Level Group of the Council of Ministers of the Belarus-Russia Union State in Minsk on 9 October, Russia’s Deputy Economic Development Minister Aleksey Likhachev told reporters on 3 October, BelTA has learned.

Rumas: EEU will not worsen gas relations between Belarus, Russia
Gas relations between Belarus and Russia will not go bad once the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) becomes operational, Chairman of the Development Bank of Belarus, member of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission Sergei Rumas said at the meeting of the House of Representatives’ permanent commission on international affairs on 3 October, BelTA has learned.

Multifunctional radiochemical research facility to go online in Russia in 2018
A multifunctional radiochemical research facility is being built in Dimitrovgrad for the sake of working out new technologies for the nuclear power engineering industry of the future. The relevant information was released by the Atomic Reactors Research Institute of the Russian state corporation Rosatom. The future research facility will be based at premises of the Institute, BelTA has learned.

Belarus reduces oil export duties 1 October
The export duty on crude oil will go down from $367,6 to $344,7 per tonne. The duty on straight-run gasoline and commercial gasoline will make up $310,2 from $330,8 per tonne. The export duty on light and medium distillates will be $227,5 from $242,6 to per tonne. The same duty will be applied to benzene, toluene, xylene, fuel oil, lubricants, waste oils, petrolatum and paraffin, petroleum coke (except for calcinated petroleum coke) and oil bitumen.

Russian, Belarusian nuclear industry companies to team up for foreign projects
The Belarusian construction workers, who demonstrate excellent skills during the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, may be invited by Russian companies that specialize in building nuclear industry facilities to cooperate in implementing projects in third countries, Valery Limarenko, head of the Russian merged company NIAEP-ASE, told Russian mass media.

Safety of nuclear technologies in spotlight in Saint Petersburg
An international forum dedicated to the safety of nuclear technologies is in progress in Saint Petersburg. Representatives of the Russian state corporation Rosatom told BelTA that the forum is expected to gather members of the Russian parliament, over 200 representatives of federal and municipal executive agencies, enterprises and organizations of Russia’s nuclear industry, experts from CIS and non-CIS states including Norway, Finland, and Slovakia.

Belarus to reduce export duties on oil, oil products as from 1 October
As from 1 October Belarus will reduce export duties on oil and oil products, which are exported beyond the Customs Union in line with Council of Ministers executive order No. 911 of 23 September 2014, BelTA has learned.
