World’s first floating nuclear power plant operational in Russia in 2017
According to the Rosatom head, the creation of the necessary shore infrastructure in Chukotka is central to the launch of the floating nuclear cogeneration power plant’s operation. “They are lagging behind the schedule by quite a large margin. We can deliver the power plant but they will not be ready to take its heat and electricity. We are now working with the administration of the Chukotka Autonomous District. Vice Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev, plenipotentiary representative of the president for the Far East Federal District, controls the work,” said Sergei Kiriyenko.

The company Rosatom France which is registered in Paris is an affiliated company of Rusatom International Network. The new company aims to develop international business of Rosatom divisions, look for new business opportunities. Andrei Rozhdestvin, Regional Vice President of Rusatom International Network for Western Europe, was appointed Director of Rosatom France.

Potupchik: A brand new fuel and energy balance for Belarus in 2015
“We have been gradually reducing the import of electricity and are planning to increase the export of the Belarusian electricity next year. Although the gas consumption will stay the same, its structure will change,” the minister said. In his words, in 2015 the energy-producing industry is expected to consume 1.6 billion cubic meters of gas less (it is approximately $250 million) than in 2005 when Belarus launched the first program to modernize the energy sector in the country.

Belenergo to cooperate with Finnish partners to generate energy using local fuel

Belarus plans to import 1 billion kW of electricity from Ukraine in 2015
"We are considering the possibility of importing 1 billion kW of electricity from Ukraine next year, but the final decision will be made in November and December," said Leonid Shenets. Negotiations with the suppliers are currently underway. "Contracts are usually signed in November or December," he added.

Belenergo, Russian turbine factory to advance cooperation

Belarus presents radioactive waste treatment report to IAEA
The document has been developed by specialists of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Department in association with interested government agencies. In particular, the document outlines the government policy and practice in the management of spent fuel and radioactive waste in Belarus, the legal base and the fulfillment of recommendations issued after the previous report was presented. The new document reviews activities and events from 2012 through 2014.

Russia stays committed to international fusion reactor project
Sanctions against Russia have not affected Russia’s participation in the international project to create the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), BelTA learned from Vyacheslav Pershukov, Deputy Director General of the Russian state corporation Rosatom, during the 15th international conference on thermonuclear fusion energy that opened in Saint Petersburg on 13 October.
