Belarus GDP energy intensity 2.5% down in 2019
The Energy Saving government program set out to reduce the GDP energy intensity by 1.3% in 2019. According to the National Statistics Committee, the figure dropped by 2.5% instead. Belarus' GDP energy intensity improved in comparison with Canada's and approached the GDP energy intensity Finland boasts.

Belarus hosting IAEA nuclear infrastructure review mission
Belarus is hosting an Integrated Nuclear Infrastructure Review (INIR 3) mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). From 24 February till 4 March the IAEA mission will be analyzing all 19 nuclear infrastructure issues that are put forth in the IAEA Milestones Document.

Belneftekhim eager to refine Gazprom Neft oil via tolling agreement, no deal yet
Representatives of Belneftekhim and Gazprom Neft met on 21 February to discuss oil refining via a tolling agreement. The Belarusian side suggested a 20/80 formula. Belneftekhim would like to take Russian oil without paying a premium and take one fifth of the volume of deliveries for itself as part of the tolling agreement.

Lukashenko: Russians hint at Belarus' merger with Russia in exchange for common energy prices
Aleksandr Lukashenko said that during negotiations with Russia, including in Sochi, the Belarusian side always demands equal conditions since Belarus and Russia are part of the Union State of Belarus and Russia and are members of the Eurasian Economic Union.
