Lukashenko: NASB contributes to elaboration of Belarus’ sustainable development strategy
The studies and suggestions of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) are used while drafting Belarus’ socio-economic development program for 2016-2020 and the national strategy of sustainable socio-economic development for the period until 2030, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at the ceremony to present diplomas to academicians and members of the National Academy of Sciences on 23 January, BelTA has learned.

Lukashenko: Belarus puts a stop to outflow of young scientists
Belarus managed to resolve the problem of the outflow of young scientists. Today more and more young people decide to go into science, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he presented diplomas to academicians and members of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) on 23 January, BelTA has learned.

Belarus becomes full-fledged member of U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention
The decision to grant Belarus this status was the result of fruitful cooperation of the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry and USP scientists. In 2013 Belarus' Healthcare Minister Vasily Zharko received a delegation of the U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention led by its CEO (President) Dr. Roger Williams. The meeting resulted in the signing of the memorandum of understanding. Belarus' Healthcare Ministry was allowed to take advantage, free of charge, of the intellectual property of the U.S. Pharmacopeia, as well as to translate, copy and incorporate various monographs and other papers, including pharmaceutical substance standards, into the State Pharmacopeia of Belarus.

Academies of Sciences of Belarus, Latvia sign cooperation agreement
The agreement provides for the development of joint projects and joint use of national and international grants. Besides, Belarusian and Latvian scientists will be able to run scientific training programs, publish the results of joint research in scientific editions of both countries, and exchange scientific and other kinds of information.

India ready to invest in Belarus’ pharmaceutical industry
India invites Belarusian companies to come to the Indian market and invest in various economic sectors. According to the diplomat, Belarusian partners might get interested in housing construction projects, infrastructure projects and manufacture of related products. The Indian Ambassador noted that foreign investments now can account for up to 49% of assets in Indian’s defense industry. “In his speech in the parliament on 15 January Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko urged Belarusian companies to search for new sales markets for their products and services. I am absolutely convinced that India can offer great opportunities in all economic sectors,” the diplomat noted.
