Lukashenko: The China-Belarus Industrial Park can earn billions
“The project means billions that China is interested in. In particular, China is interested in the construction of state-of-the-art enterprises over there and it means billions in revenues for Belarus. If we implement the project, we will have no problems with the gold and foreign exchange reserves or with supporting the exchange rate of the national currency,” believes the head of state. He also said that the establishment of the industrial park will soon be discussed at the level of the president.

Belarus, Austria to boost cooperation between Academies of Sciences
The Belarusian delegation that is on a visit to Vienna on 27-31 January has comprised NASB chief academic secretary Alexander Kilchevsky and Director of the NASB’s Stepanov Institute of Physics Nikolai Kazak. The parties shared opinions on the ways to develop cooperation between the Academies of Sciences of Belarus and Austria, including possible exchanges in visits, implementation of joint projects, joining big international scientific programs, mutual participation in the international scientific forums in Belarus and Austria.

Belarus provides all kinds of cancer treatment
The National Research Center for Oncology and Medical Radiology boasts cutting-edge equipment. There are no centers of this kind in the entire post-Soviet space. Besides, this year the center will commission a molecular genetics laboratory and a positron emission center. “When these facilities become operational, we will be able to rival the world’s best hospitals,” Oleg Sukonko said.

Nikiforov: Belarus, Russia should share best practices in IT
According to Nikolai Nikiforov, this can be done by means of introducing e-government, the process which is now underway in Russia and Belarus. “In some regions of our country, people have an opportunity to submit applications to the civil registry office online. Up to 95% of applications are submitted this way there. Applying for a place in a kindergarten, paying fines for traffic offences, getting a certificate – all this should be done online,” he noted.

EEU roaming agreement to be signed in spring 2015
The international roaming agreement in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) will be signed in the spring of 2015, Belarus’ First Deputy Minister of Communication and Information Technology Dmitry Shedko told reporters as he met with Russian Minister of Mass Communications Nikolai Nikiforov on 27 January, BelTA has learned.

Belarus' government to assist Kokhanovo Pipe Plant with new technologies
As the Prime Minister noted, the plant has a good team of professionals and produces import-substituting goods. The company is not standing still. Every year it launches new investment projects. Its products are used primarily in the sewage systems. Belarus still imports a large number of local treatment facilities which cost a lot. The plant has offered to solve this problem mainly through the use of its own goods.
